This policy explains how Simon Maps ("Simon Maps", "we", "us"), operated by Simon Mutunga in Nairobi, Kenya, handles information on www.simonmapper.co.ke and in the software tools published under the simonmapper.co.ke domain.
Who our software is for
Most Simon Maps software is built to assist Simon Mutunga and scientific colleagues with geospatial tasks such as processing spatial data, analysing satellite imagery, and mapping climate and environmental risk. Some tools are also shared publicly as demonstrations.
Information we collect
- This website: no account is needed and no forms store your details. When you contact us by WhatsApp, phone, or email, we receive what you choose to send.
- Sign-in: if a tool asks you to sign in (for example with a Google account), we receive only basic profile details such as your name, email address, and profile picture, used to identify you within that tool.
- Data you provide: files, coordinates, or datasets you upload to a tool are used only to perform the task you request.
- Technical data: our hosting provider may log standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and reliability.
How we use information
- To provide, operate, and improve the tools and services you use.
- To respond to enquiries and deliver requested services.
- To keep our services secure and prevent misuse.
We do not sell personal information, do not use it for advertising, and do not share it with third parties except the service providers needed to run our tools (such as hosting) or where required by law.
Google user data
Where a Simon Maps tool uses Google sign-in or Google APIs, its use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
